Marco e-mailed me earlier this week to let me know he included me in his new viral carousel. I go back and forth on liking these and not liking them. I don’t know, I just think it is neat to see where your link ends up plus you can find some pretty cool blogs you’ve never seen before. I think this one is pretty unique in the fact that you actually remove an entry from the bottom and add your own to the top. Just one though? That is so tough!
I’m going to add the last blog that inspired and reminded me to blog about other blogs. Earlier this week Internet Marketing Mind by YC did a great review of a blog by a friend of mine, Shaun Low. But it disturbed me that he says many people don’t like blog reviews:
I know many people dislike blog reviews. But I love them - it is one of the fastest ways I can discover other interesting blogs. Who knows - it might be one that you will end up reading for a long time.
Blog reviews are great guys! First off, remember what it was like the first time you got reviewed? If you haven’t gotten one, think how cool it would be. Wasn’t it the most awesome feeling that somebody actually liked your blog enough to blog about it? Secondly, how many times have you found a great blog from somebody else’s recommendation? I know I have for sure.
Since I can add just one blog to this list, I am going to add YC blog as he reminded me one of the most important thing about blogging! If you would like to participate too, you can simply copy and paste the following into your blog and follow the directions.
– copy and paste from this line (including the line) —
Why this will work
- It provides value through personal recommendations
- Links to your blog with linktext of your choice
- Backlinks come from within a dedicated content about your blog
- Rotating content will prevent it from penalties from search engines
- It is viral - more participants means greater effect
How it works
Simply follow these few steps to make this one working for you:
- Create a new post on your blog and start it with a few words about how you came into this carousel.
- Copy and paste the entire text between the red lines
- Check if all links are working after copy and paste
- Remove the very last recommendation from the list
- Add a recommendation of a blog you love to the top of the list with at least 2-3 sentences about why you love to read this blog and add a little note, that you recommend this together with a link to your blog. Here is an example:

Hope you guys find some good blogs here, I actually do read a lot of these daily too. I will have to check the rest out and I am sure I will find some good gems to add to my list. It has been a busy week for me, now it is time to a break… till tomorrow of course!

I checked the first blog you recommended =). I just learned blog rush from IMM, great information there!
I was shocked when I read that review! it really gave me a huge confidence boost because that was my first review and it’s really nice to hear that someone enjoyed my site for once. Thanks for adding YC to the list I think he really deserves to be up there. Good luck with the link train or whatever you want to call it lol.
Wow! This must be my first ‘review’ of sorts!
Thanks Sarah! Your opinions are really helpful as I try to improve. Feels good too to wake up on a Sunday morning seeing this heheh
I find it cool that I still have the ability to ‘disturb’ - it’s been awhile since I dropped tracks that could clear the dancefloors…
I first saw this on Chessnoid’s site and was hesitant due to having already started another link train a week ago. But this is actually a good review method of sorts. Gonna put this into one of my post projects for the week.
Sarah, thanks for jumping into this. I hope, other bloggers will follow to make this thing huge.
@shaun I enjoy reading your blog as much as bluejar!
* If I have time tonight, will post up this Carousel.
Hey Sarah,
This seems like a great idea, but I have a problem: I seem to read a few types of blogs: humorous, slice of life, and informational.
I think that lots of people want to read the blogs that give information on how to do something better on their blog in a technical manner; I have three blogs I read for that (you’re one of them) but otherwise that stuff just makes my eyes glaze over.
Anyway, I guess I’m afraid of skewing the carnival, and causing it to maybe not be as successful as it might of been. I’m SO powerful-LOL!
Wow guys, thanks for your comments. I’m busy trying to keep up with the entries into the group writing project, this weekend has been amazing.
@David: Glad you found something you liked!
@shaun: I’m glad YC could make your day and remind you that WE ALL like your blog! :c) (see what David and Felix said)
@YC: I think it would be collectively fun to write disturbing post all the time. I mean I would think it would attract a lot of attention :c).
@Marco: Thanks for including me!
@Felix: No time pressure. Took me a while to get it up myself.
@menopauseprincess: That is not a problem, that is being a human! I read a lot of other topics on blogs — I think I’d poke my eyes out if I didn’t have my humor blogs! I think personally I’m moving more towards providing a platform for all types of blogs rather than just ones similar to mine. It might be blog death, I don’t know! I just know I enjoy all blogs with different subject matter. I don’t think it will kill the carousel if you want to join in :c).
Thank you Sarah, you always make me feel so “of value”. I very much appreciate it!
Hi Sarah,
Thanks for the visit and comment. I was unsure when I joined the original carousel that Alex created, but it worked wonders. I came across so many blogs that I would probably have missed and am only too pleased to take part in the Marco’s rebirth.
Some say you should only target/review those with similar content but on the original I strayed from that and it didn’t have any adverse effects. Quite the opposite really. My Technorati rank shot up and I went from Google Page Rank 0 to 5, so something works lol.
