The 3 P’s for Creating a Successful Website - Passion, Persistence, and Patience

The 3 P's for Creating a Successful Website

When starting a new web project, keep in mind the 3 P’s to a successful website - Passion, Persistence, and Patience. You need all 3 to create a worth while website that visitors will return to, refer to their friends, and get linked to from other webmasters.

Passion

You need to be passionate about what you are doing to succeed. Not only knowing about the subject of the website you are creating, but also wanting to continue to learn about the subject too. These days most niche subjects have already been covered many times, so starting a new website on any subject can be difficult. Being passionate about the subject of your website will increase your odds of staying around for a long time.

Persistence

Bloggers are told to post often to be successful. This is very true too for regular website selling services, products, or just resource websites too. You do not necessarily need to ‘post’ often, but you must keep your website updated and relevant to your subject. You can’t have outdated information from 2 years ago on your homepage and expect visitors to return to your website. Work on a regular basis to keep your website fresh and bring in new visitors. Your persistence in both areas will help your visitors realize your website is alive and growing.

Patience

“Get Rich Now” or “Million Hits To Your Website ” is just as make believe as Disney fairy tales. It takes time to build a website worth visiting. Work on your website regularly and wait patiently for it to gain momentum. Don’t expect a gazillion visitors over night, but expect to gain visitors steadily overtime. Trying to achieve steady growth of visitors who return to your website on a regular basis, is a much better goal than trying to get a rush of traffic all at once from un-targeted traffic.

There is an unlimited amount of information on helping you grow your website out there. Regularly read blogs, tutorials, forums, and resource websites to get the latest ideas on building your website and keeping up with your websites subject. Use that information you gathered while following the 3 P’s - Passion, Persistence, and Patience and you have the perfect formula for a long lasting successful website.

Nice post (and entry). But did you really mean “patients,” or perhaps “patience.” It makes for a great play of words though—I was imagining patients strapped to gurneys and in gowns being forced, for reasons of SEO to read peoples websites… ;-)

Hahaha, well certainly I could add that as my +1 … because if you can strap them to your website it is a good idea. Shame on me for using my hubby as my editor! Thanks for correction on grammer!

Definitely agree with passion. My blog is not a big money earner or traffic blazer but I enjoy blogging and the experience that I can use for my self-education and growth of business.

    Great post
