Since starting this blog, I have been taking a lot of screenshots as I like to include a photo on each of my posts. I have been looking around for a great screen capture tool, because I have been doing them manually. All of the other screen capture tools I have found are very complicated and I forgot about good old FireFox plugins! It just so happens they have a fabulous one, ScreenGrab!, that was recommended by Ronald at DevLounge.
You can save/copy the whole page/frame, just the portion that is visible, or you can use the selection tool to select what you want you want to save/copy. So far it is great! Especially for those of us who always have a million tabs open in our browsers, as it only captures the page portion. Here are some examples:
Whole Page/Frame Example
This captures the entire page, even if you can’t see it through your own screen/browser.
All you need to do is click on the ScreenGrab! icon in the lower right hand side of your browser, select the save/copy option you want to use, and you’ve got your self a screen capture that quick.

I love using SnagIt by TechSmith for screen captures, but ScreenGrab sounds like an interesting alternative.
Thanks! This beats hitting “Print Screen” and going through the trouble of cropping and resize the image.
@Mark: I’ll check out SnagIt. Still might need an screenshot tool for doing programs other than firefox. Thanks for tip!
@Jason: Print Screen, is my old pal! But this little tool has seriously saved me some time and I’ve only been using it for a few days.
Hi Sarah,
If you’re looking for some other Firefox add-ons, I did two posts that featured the most useful ones for power users:

Thanks! There are some really good ones there I haven’t even thought to look for, specially that Google Adsense one. Too true about logging in 10 times (or more) to see stats.
Oh thanks. I had been using “print screen” then going into photoshop. This is a much eaiser solution. I’ve just installed it and going to play er test it now.
I’m a Snaglt user too since quite long time and never think to find the substitute.
Now I move to Firefox…And I think I’ll try your suggestion.
