List Messenger

Today, I was looking for another mailing list manager. Over the years I’ve looked for one every few months just to see whats out there. So far in my searches I have not found one that is exactly what I want, but close enough. It beats having to create my own and actually keep it updated. Eureka! I actually found one, that is just perfect thus far. Minus that it is XHTML/CSS backend, but it is close enough.

List Messenger

  • Minimalistic and Intuitive Admin Area. It is not bloated with graphics but nicely laid out to get to where you need to, without looking it up in the guide. Theres no header, LOVELY, just click the navigation and go.
  • Easily Customizable. You can customize the public area template quite easily. It is just one file instead of header/footer, which is my preference.
  • Did I say Intuitive? It is so easy to use thus far. Just clicked around — installed and configured in less than 30 minutes. Including the public pages.
  • End-User Tools. A whole suite of subscribe/unsubscribe forms already created. Just copy/paste it into your website and modify it a little. Your set to go.
  • Archives/RSS/Profile. All of these are configurable on/off within the admin area and available to your subscribers.
  • Message Queue. Built in message queue allows you to space out your message sending time and see what is being sent and how far along.
  • Multiple Groups. It will handle multiple groups and quite easily.
  • Free and Pro Versions. Did I mention the one I’m using is the free one? They also have a pro version but so far the free one is great.

Very nice, simple mailing list manager for those that do not need a enterprise level mailing list manager. With their free version, it will allow you to try it out before you go for their pro version. It has every feature you need, packed into a nicely laid out Admin section.
