BlueJar.com has Been Branded with a New Logo

BlueJar.com has a new logo, you can see it up top in our header! The experts over at SitePoint.com are incredible. I held a contest to find BlueJar.com nice new logo instead of the boring text thing that was going on up top. Thanks to everyone that participated, we had over 80 entries and 1,593 thread views. The contest was a great success and congrats to the winner ‘ugodesigns’ that managed to make a blue jar look totally awesome.

Here is our new logo, for you feed readers:

BlueJar.com

I hope you guys like it! It was a very hard decision to make and I liked many of the logo entries. Check out some of the runner ups here at SitePoint. I must totally recommend SitePoint.com if you need to outsource any design work as you get many different people designing for you and you get to pick the best one. Hard part though is actually picking, everybody I asked had different choices and it was very tuff call.

Now when people come looking for a ‘blue jar’, they will actually find one!

Woah! That’s a kickass logo! I think I should get a logo myself for feeds and the like. I could also use it to inspire a favicon.ico which I’ve been sleeping on. *nod*

It really looks nice . I remember the time when I was searching for a logo for my website and didn’t knew about Sitepoint and I had to settle with the designers over at DP , but that’s another story .

3 random thoughts on the header design :

    1) I like the colors very much

    2) It fits perfectly in the page layout , although I don’t really like the orange outer glow on the jar .

    3) I love it .

Thanks guys! It was a hard choice, I’m glad you guys like it. I never thought I’d have an actual jar in my logo because it didn’t seem interesting, but this logo makes a blue jar seem pretty cool. :c)

@Bush: Next week I’ll have a tutorial and some free spots for some favicons… free ones are quicker!

Very nice logo! I need to make one to someday…

Thanks Shaun. I am pretty bad at making logos. I couldn’t figure out how a jar could possibly look interesting enough, but this doesn’t look too bad for a jar.

The logo is awesome. I always thought the designers who hang out at sitepoint are very resourceful .. It looks very nice and coveys the idea of a blue jar in a pleasant a bit comical way. Very good design.

I wish the newly branded blog a lot of visitors and good content as you already have. Best of luck ;)

@ugoDesigns: Thanks for stopping by to see your logo! It does look great. I had to monkey with the header for a while, but it all worked out great. Thanks again. Glad you posted your link so I’ll remember your website for later.

Yeah, nothing worthwhile in life comes easy. You need to work for it…only that some are easier than others.
