Abuse is a series issue and I’m sure everyone knows at least one person affected by different types of abuse. To help support abuse victims and rise awareness, join bloggers against abuse on September 27, 2007 (this Thursday) through BlogCatalog’s Blogging for a Great Cause Challenge. Abuse can be something really hard to write about, even for veteran writers and bloggers because it is not something we talk or write about that often. Here are a few posts from Imaginif, a blog dedicated to child safety which can help inspire you to find a topic that you can write about:
- Twenty skills to teach children self control
- What is Child Protection?
- Co and Counter Dependent Relationships: which one will your child choose?
- Parental Alienation Syndrome
- Teens and post-traumatic stress disorder
Don’t forget about Blog Action Day where bloggers join together on October 15, 2007 to blog about the environment. There are even bloggers taking part in other events leading up to Blog Action Day such as The Giving Hands by Pelf, which is pledging to blog about the environment for the next 30 days (started on September 15) up till October 15th. Here are some of the most recent posts that can also help you find inspiration for your post on the environment:
- How much plastic bags do you use?
- 5 reasons not to drink bottled water
- Turn Off, Tune Out, Switch Off
- Maximize the use of your fridge
- 14 ways to create less trash

Gnomey thanks for the plug for Blog Against Abuse day. I am excited at the thought of a single blog roar that unites against abuse. Thanks so much for providing some Imaginif posts as springboards for ideas too.
Aww, Sarah, thank you so so much for the mention! I am so honoured! =)
The month-long blogging campaign was started to create and spread awareness on matters related to the environment, but I guess not many people (bloggers) are environmentally-inclined though.. But I will not give up. Those articles that my guest-bloggers and I wrote are timeless articles and anybody can read them and learn from them anytime =)
Thanks again! Owe you coffee! =)
No problem you gals! :c) You both support very important causes that I support fully. Keep up the great work!
Our today (I’m down under in Australia) is your tomorrow…so while you are all preparing for bed, I’ve just posted my entry to Bloggers against Abuse. My chosen abuse to blog against is child sexual abuse. I’ve raised a Mr Linky meme so if anyone wants to join the roar or bloggers against predators sexually assaulting our babies please do add your posts.
Singularly our voices are faint - together we are formidable.
End child sexual abuse. Make those who perpetrate abuse responsible.
Gnomey,
I posted as well.
