Great ideas there! Thinking outside the box never does any harm.
Just replying to this post is an example of how you can promote your own website.

I like the offline options that are a little bit different.

Great advice! Going to sponsor events, expos, and trade shows is a great marketing tool. Also joining your local Chamber of Commerce is good too because they will do ribbon-cutting ceremonies and keep you informed of community events. I like the advice of getting a tattoo, that would be a dedicated business owner to do that!

All the ways are really unique to advertise a website offline. And I do agree that Using offline advertising can help one gain traffic from untapped resources. So according to me the second one is most beneficial hence I'll use this way for getting traffic on my site because TV commercials, radio, newspapers, magazines, billboards are the traditional way for advertising and a large number of people come to these ways daily. That's why these ways can provide great help in spreading something.

Research shows that offline advertising works much worse than online if the thing that is advertised is a website or an online business. If someone's reading a paper on the train and saw an ad with a website mentioned, would this person remember it after the train stops and a person gets out of the train?
This sort of ads need to go in places where people can save the written information and later type it in the browser. The example is flyers through the door or ads on the common household goods packaging. The rest - it's like banners, saw and immediately forgotten.

What about tatooing other people? Every party you go to, take ink and a tatoo gun with you - when the drunks pass out, emblazen their foreheads with your logo - hey presto, instant branding (literally!). Good post, but may cost a few bucks compared to online marketing.

Great page! I've made flyers using Printshop and have my website in 3 places on my car. I also "plug" my site on plugboards and chatboards. Wherever I have the opportunity to let people know, I take advantage of it.

The last idea, tattooing our body, I think is a silly idea. It will not only hurt us, hurt our wallet, but also hurt our blog, since I am sure there will be only a little number of people who take a note to our body. As a result, the result of this promotion method will not be as satisfying as we expect. However, if we are kinds of people who like to tattoo our body, then I think it's the most enjoying method.:D

I seen a picture of a guy holding a huge sign for a "gas saving" affiliate program, on the ramp to a freeway. Apparently he got 6 sales that day, for a total of about $300 for one days work. While it's not my preferred method of advertising thinking outside the box can yield huge results. Like everything else you need to think about your target market, before your jump into anything. I.E A game website most likely will not do good at a marathon, but vegan recipes might.
